I did not have the opportunity to experience the in-shop feeling. We wanted to check out the place spontaneously but were told that there’s a waiting list and walk-ins aren’t possible (on that day). While I understand that a less crowded store provides all customers a better experience, the amount of people in the store at that time did not justify a waiting list without the possibility of walk-ins - and an indifferent attitude of the staff doesn’t make it better.

Aimé Leon Dore in New York City offers a unique shopping experience.

The store boasts a tech-forward digital sign-in system for the line. To sweeten the wait, there's an amazing coffee shop right next to the store. Once you enter, you'll be greeted by a beautifully designed interior with impressive decor.

However, the service fell short of the overall experience. Despite knowing exactly what I wanted, some staff members came across as judgmental. The in-store connectivity was also weak, making it difficult to load links to ask them about if said item was available for purchase. Even when I politely inquired about a few pre-selected items, the response was curt, simply stating there would be a wait. While I was happy to wait, a touch of kindness and better communication would have gone a long way.

Despite the beautiful store and my purchases, the disappointing service left a somewhat bitter taste.
I guess the online experience helps avoid the not so human touch the store anyways does not offer.

The average rating of 3 stars should be an indicator of the experience unfortunately.

Very selective items in the store. You’re better off ordering online. What they do is have their launches in store and they sell out quick without restocking. You may end up waiting in line for hours only for the items you were looking for are out of stock. Or you can go the day launch. As for lines, there will always be a line. Weekdays have shorter wait times but weekends can be 40min - 3hrs. I suggest getting there before 3pm on weekends. I’m sure launch days are even longer. Return policy is pretty outdated as well, with store credit only. I think they need to improve the shopping experience.

I faced discrimination at this store and left crying. Wouldn't give this business a penny of my money.
First, they have tried to fake an “exclusive” vibe by asking people to join a waitlist that tends to be 1-1.5 hours long.
When we got inside we initially liked the vibe and browsed through stuff on display.
My partner went on to try a t-shirt sample and I attempted to join him to see if it fits well.
A member of the staff, a white woman asked me to stop as it is policy to not allow two people in the changing room.
Just next to our changing room I saw two customers, both white, entering the room and had been in there several minutes.
I asked the girl why were they allowed to do that, she said she hasn't seen them so didn't know about it.
My husband then needed a different size of the t-shirt to try, and while I was waiting there the other pair of white women came out of the room, picked other garments and went back in together, and again I noticed the woman in the staff didn't stop them even though she and her other crew member were still in the room, in fact handing them the garments they needed.

So I confronted the woman who stopped me and politely asked her, how come those other two customers are allowed to be in the room together? Instead of saying something like, oh I didn't see them, this time she told me “stop yelling at me”.

Now I don't yell at random people, and I have shopped at far more expensive places than this fake brand trying to make it look real exclusive.
So I walked out of the store with my partner and decided never to shop there!
I was literally reduced to tears by this experience. I went back to a woman who was at the door of the store, and told her about my experience inside. She told me they don't discriminate at the store, but she was unhappy that it happened with me. Other than she listening to me crying and talking about how I got humiliated, she didn't do anything like officially taking my complaint about the staff. She did offer me free coffee from their cafe, which I clearly didn't need after the experience.
Aimé Leon Dore, you need to have a better handle of your discrimating staff.

My friends and I had such a great time here! Was a busy weekend, so we checked in for a spot in line with the girls at the door. They were so stylish and welcoming! Once inside, a sales associate named Yanni (sorry if I'm misspelling) helped me find a perfect gift for my boyfriend. And he helped my friend find exactly what she was looking for. We so appreciated his warmth and sense of humor!!

The brand is definitely more and more popular these days and I love the cut and tailors of their garments. My first time in store today and the customer service is just way too bad... we came to nyc for shopping and this is the only very unfriendly service we experience. The white girl (only two in store and of is nonwhite) in red serves a mean girl attitude, rolling eyes and talking with staff/each other and impatiently answering any questions. Honestly my first time in the store and it's bad. I recommend the brand but not here.

The fact that you have to put your name on a list and wait 45-60 minutes just to get into the store (when there’s no line) to spend your money is ridiculous.
We understand the brand has a bit of buzz right now but this is completely unnecessary; and there are better brands, with more cache in the area, that don’t subscribe to this ridiculous practice. Get over yourselves.

Incredible customer service! I visited on a Monday assuming no line but they did have a small wait. It was only about 30 min and they text you when it’s your turn. It was a great shopping experience! I usually order online but this was a first visit to a physical store. Everyone was amazing but nothing was in stock . They were sold out a lot of sizes so I was only able to purchase one item.
